The internal environment of Apple Inc. entails the organizational factors relating to the development of the business prospects of the company. The internal environment entails some competencies and weaknesses that characterize the operations of the company in a bid to keep up with the highly competitive business environment. Some of the key considerations in the internal environment of the company include the strength and weakness analysis. Apple Inc. has an internal environment that features a strong sense of diversification from personal computers to other electronic devices such as mobile phones and entertainment gadgets that customers have the convenience of operating with increased flexibility. The increasing innovation by the research and development department has contributed to the robust production of cutting-edge devices that command the loyalty of the users in the competitive market. The sales and marketing department has also contributed to the internal attributes of the company through impressive skills that draw customers to increase the sales and hence the profit margins.
Discussion
The internal environment of Apple Inc. also exhibits weaknesses such as the high dependency of the company on the iPhone and iPod as its flagship sales channels. The narrow focus of sales on the two devices has contributed to narrow market coverage due to the constant changes in tastes and preferences in the market (Zhao, 2016). The lack of internal diversity has also made the production to lack the required levels of diversification to spur more innovative technologies. The internal decisions by the management of the company to manufacture devices that run entirely on the iOS is also a weakness that poses a great deal of competition from other players who integrate the Android operating system in their devices. The company’s insistence on similar design specifications for its devices is a key contributing factor to the inability to capture the attention of wider markets as most customers desire a variety of designs regarding shapes and functional capabilities.
