Global Supply Chain Management
Introduction
The supply chain is the company's method of receiving raw materials from the suppliers and distributing the goods to the end users. Supply chain management involves the management of the flow of goods from the company to the consumers. In supply chain management, the source of the raw materials is essential for the company to understand its suppliers better. How the goods reach the end-users is also vital in supply chain management since it helps them know who the consumers are (Amegashie, 2015).
In supply chain management, some networks link every company's supply step. The links are important for transferring products and goods from the company to the end users. Significantly, the source of the company's raw materials for production purposes is also an essential step in the global supply chain. The global supply chain is based on the transfer of goods from the company to the end-users globally. Similarly, the company obtains its raw materials from various suppliers globally in the global supply chain. Global supply chain management target to ensure an efficient supply chain on a global scale (Krajewski et al., 2019).
Companies globally have been able to apply global supply chains in various activities to ensure an efficient supply chain. The companies plan to manage the supply chain from how it will be obtained to the general production process. Successful planning yields the need to source the raw materials, after which the need for manufacturing products from the raw materials will emerge. The product distribution after being manufactured is the third last step of the global supply chain that various global companies apply. When all the products have been manufactured, the company has to develop the logistics of the business to know all the costs and expenses of the production. When all the products have been delivered to the consumers, returning step allows the company to accept back defects or excess products (Chopra and Meindl, 2019).
A global supply chain is an essential tool for the organization's success. The global supply chain plays a major role in fastening the production process by ensuring that the company's management can monitor all the production activities to how they are distributed. The company can also coordinate supply activities and, therefore, easily identify the problems in the supply chain that can lower the production speed. Because global supply chain management helps monitor the sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution of products to consumers, it becomes easy for the companies to develop better management strategies. Understanding all the global supply chain issues allows companies to develop better supply chain links that can help the supply process flow smoothly (Shih, 2020).
Operations Management involves all the activities that administer and coordinates the business activities. The main purpose of Operations Management is to ensure production efficiency. Companies that apply operations management help maintain a high production level by maximizing profits and minimizing losses. Companies can determine the best project management techniques that fit the company through operations management. Additionally, it becomes easier for the company to measure the size of the manufacturing company and, therefore, manage the global supply chain easily (Hayes, 2023).
Strategic global supply chain management is the strategic management of the global supply chain. With this technique, the companies can maintain production efficiency since they will apply unique methods and procedures to manage the global supply chain. In strategic management of the global supply chain, all the measures that can help monitor the supply chain links include how the companies perform based on the global supply chain (Marchi et al., 2014).
Background
Global supply chain management is an essential tool for the success of global companies. It has been applied in global supply chain management and ensures that the business develops accurate links from sourcing raw materials to supplying the products to the customers. The three major companies that operate in one industry include McDonald's, Burger King, and KFC (Busby, 2019).

The company's other products include desserts, breakfast items, milkshakes, cheeseburgers, and chicken products. The company uses its brand in all the countries it is operating in. It has over 36000 restaurants in all the countries it is operating. From 2008, the company experienced revenue growth; in 2020, it generated $19.2 billion, and in 2021 it generated 23.2 billion. The company brand logo developed over the years, and in 2018 it developed another brand logo, which was later improved, as shown below (Kendall, 2023).
(Maybach, 2019)
