Management in multi-cultural environments can be frustrating to any boss or manager considering, the value systems vary from one culture to another. Therefore, the main challenges faced in such situations would include type of communication, decision-making process norms, fluency in the native language and foreign members view of the organization’s hierarchy. The team will have to make very crucial choices for the project to be successful. Some of these choices will include, adapting to the environment, group restructuring, and to exit. When the first two strategies fail to improve the situation in the multi-cultural environment, then the best option would be an exit of the uncooperative member.
Adapting to the environment would mean the team has to accept that they are in a different situation and that the Saudi Arabians have a different way of doing things. For instance, the Saudi Arabians might find direct communication as offensive hence creating a communication barrier between the teams.
