Motivation is a key element of performance strategies of most companies. It is the process through which businesses direct and maintain behavior toward organizational goals, such as improved profitability, consumer satisfaction, sustainability, and improved employee performance and efficiency. The task of ensuring worker motivation is vested on the manager who has opportunities to motivate staff members depending on their treatment. Employees who are highly motivated respond positively and contribute to the overall performance of the company. Notably, there are various motivational theories that managers implement. Effective implementation of different theories results in overall organizational success as shown in the case of the Emirates Airline in UAE.
Motivation affects employee performance and attitudes toward their roles. In particular, motivation is composed of variable relationships that account for one’s behavior, direction, and amplitude (Hester and Kevin 173). The theories help managers in motivating employees, thus improving the overall performance and productivity of the organization. As a result, most managers have noted the importance of integrating theories in their motivational strategies so as to gear toward the set companies’ goals. Employee motivation models have become a crucial element of operational strategies in organizations.
