PICOT Statement
Excellent staffing ratios perform an essential role in improving the quality of health care offered to patients. Nursing care is also vital since it defines the quality of health care and patients' healthcare outcomes. Acute care setting requires high levels of care hence causing many problems on nursing staffing. Due to the many demands of an acute care setting, healthcare facilities have been adopting policies and policies to improve patient protection within an acute care setting. Previous studies suggest that there is a need to enhance the quality of staffing ratio in health facilities to avoid challenges associated with weak staffing system (Echevarria & Walker, 2014). As such, this paper seeks to design a PICOT question that can help to improve patient safety and security in an acute setting.

Importance of the Issue to Patient Care
Good coordination practices in a health care facility play an integral role in improving quality health care and safety of patients. Despite various attempts to improve quality care service delivered to patients, specific barrier reduces their effectiveness (Echevarria & Walker, 2014). The increasing staffing problem is one of the obstacles that affect effective communication in health care facilities.
