Hyperinflation in Developing Countries
Inflation and hyperinflation are two of the most socially destructive economic phenomena in developing countries. Inflation is defined as the sustained, continuing, and rapid increase in price levels of goods and services within a given economy over some defined period. When the inflation rate exceeds 50% per month for at least one month, it becomes hyperinflation, a rare phenomenon (Davies & Connors, 2016). Hyperinflation is one of the worst economic calamities that can befall a nation.
