In your professional life you may have been involved in a project or you would have had opportunities to read about some. Each organization has its own way of handling projects. Every project manager has certain skills, abilities and weaknesses. These are just some of the factors that affect the outcome of projects.
Using the example of a project discuss the following topics in your initial post about the factors that contributed to its success or failure.
Briefly describe the project information. For example: Explain the objectives of the project and its importance.
Explain the environment in which the project was initiated including organizational, governmental, regulatory, cultural and/or societal.
Profile the project manager including the leadership and management abilities.
Report on ethical issues and how they were dealt with.

A project refers to a temporary endeavor undertaken to accomplish a unique product/service. Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements (Haugan, 2011). The project under discussion is the installation of a new security system in Precious Metals Company.
The project had a specific objective that was to improve security within Precious Metals Company. Consequently, as Haugan (2011) notes, many projects fail to achieve their desired purpose because of poor incorporation of infrastructure required or incompetent project managers. For this project, Information Technology infrastructure was applied. It involved designing structures that would utilize technology to boost security within the company. The structures were retinal scanning, voice recognition, and palm scanning machines. The project was a success because it prevented unauthorized individuals to access sensitive departments within the company. The project was important because it saved on the company’s revenues that used to disappear in the hands of thieves.
The environment surrounding the company was crucial in determining the project initiation. The project respected government regulations that protect workers’ rights by paying the project team extra wages. Moreover, it was initiated to protect the company’s culture that involved protecting its valuable assets from theft.
The issue of ethics raises concern in many projects. For this particular project, the ethical issue reported was the violation of basic rights of the workforce. Every worker has a right of working for a specific period but for this project, the rights of office timings were violated. The workers needed to use some extra hours and engage in the installment of the Information Technology enhanced security structures. However, in an attempt to solve this scenario, the project manager motivated them through paying extra wages.
