The term motivation is derived from the word "motive" which basically means needs, wants push or desire of an individual. So in brief explanation employee’s motivation is a process through which an organization rewards the employees with rewards, bonuses for achieving organizational goals. CITATION Sha14 \l 1033 (Sharma, 2014) Motivation is a very important factor for an organization or a private sector and for the success of a company motivation plays a crucial role. Motivation can either be intrinsic or extrinsic CITATION McC14 \l 1033 (McCormick, 1979)in which intrinsic motivation arises from the motivations that are inherent to the job itself and an individual enjoys after successfully completing the job itself or after attaining the required objectives. Extrinsic motivations are those which are external to the job itself, for example job payments, promotions, improved work condition, security. This writing broadly explains how motivation impacts on an employee’s performance and how the two terms are related.
According to CITATION Mas13 \l 1033 (Asim, 2013) every newly established and stable organization is in constant desire to stage success in its operations therefore there is the need to create a bond between the employees and the organization. Organization spent more on training and enhancing the skills of the employees. Training helps in improving the outcome and capabilities of the employees in giving out his/her services as the requirement of the organization. Blanchard provides a performance model which categorizes the employee motivation in to two: One being Reward and the other category being Promotion. CITATION Mas13 \l 1033 (Asim, 2013) In this model there are two types of rewards that results in improved performance, the primary rewards which includes food and other necessities and secondary rewards which are derived from the primary rewards and include Music touch. Promotion acts like a ladder and sometimes as a prize that promotes the performance of an employee therefore increasing the productivity of an organization. CITATION Loc80 \l 1033 (Edwin, 1980)
