The business environment has experienced a rapid growth in the number of social media platforms all over the world. Therefore, this means that a significant number of potential customers, clients and partners are on the social media platforms (Black & Veloutsou, 2017). Social media can be used to express a company’s identity significantly since the possible audience is expanded. A company will target an audience that will be most receptive to the company’s content and services. A company’s identity can well be communicated through social media since the target audience is bigger (Black & Veloutsou, 2017). For instance, if a company sells products, then communicating of its products on social media can really be the best place to showcase those products.
There are various ways that social media helps a company present itself to the public. Social media platforms enable you to express what makes your company or brand special and giving you a chance to tailor the intended message (Essamri et al., 2019). Social media can help express company identity by increasing brand recognition, building loyalty and increasing sales. Also, it assists in decreasing costs, building trust, target audience appreciation and many more. In the current world, consumers will use the internet to search for a brand (Kissel & Büttgen, 2015). If the brand name is not online, then consumers will not further show their interest in the brand.
