Book Bunker is a local bookstore that was established 20 years ago. It was started by the couple, Joe Johnson and Mary. This bookstore has been very successful. It is known by very many people in the local community. The store deals majorly in exotic and uncommon books. The owners, Joe Johnson and Mary, have realized the importance of social media networking. They realized it was significant in improving the online presence of the business and develop and expand its e-commerce. Due to this, this report focuses on explaining the significance of social media networking. The report will outline different strategies that the company can make use of the social media in a bid to improve its business. This paper will come up with ways that the company can use in its advertising and marketing programs. The recommendations made by this report will help it improve online presence of the business. The recommendations will also aid the store in improving its presence in the local community using the social networking sites. Lastly, the report will come up with ideas geared at creating a social networking plans.

1.0 Introduction
Presently, there are a number of social networking sites that have sprung up. These sites act as a platform for interaction. In as much as the sites act as platform, they can be utilized in marketing and advertisement. The major social site are LinkedIn, Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, and Instagram. Whatsapp is a text-based social site that has gained popularity due to its fastness and the fact that it is text-based. Even though there are many social sites, there are similarities that these sites share. The main are that each user has a profile. The user will also update other information such as the relationship status, the date of birth, place of birth and current city among others. Most businesses have employed the use of social networking sites to improve to advertise and market their products. For example, in Facebook, the companies place an adverts on the right panel of the site. They pay advertising fees to Facebook. The social media sites have played a critical role in e-marketing and e-commerce. The advantage of using the social networking sites in advertising is that the fees paid is less as compared to print media. The sites also customize the adverts in such a way that each country will have the relevant adverts. This can help the companies to increase its online presence in the local community since the social site will only display the adverts that are meant for that country.
Social networking programs can be employed by different business in order to implement advertisement and marketing programs depending on the types of the business. Book Bunker can put into place strategies to maximize the use of the social sites to advertise the books that it sells. If the strategies are not well outlined, the business will not achieve the intended purpose of increasing the online presence and the market share in the local community. Whatsapp is one of the social media that the company can utilize. However, it has the disadvantage of being limited to those people whose contacts the company has. Therefore, the store can utilize the recommendations made in this report to increase its online presence, market and advertise the books that it sells. The business can for example create Facebook pages and twitter handles.

2.1 Importance of social networking in advertisement and marketing
Social networking refers to the practice escalating contacts of a business or that of an individual through the social networking sites that serve as platforms for interaction. The social sites are used by people across the globe thereby making it an important tool in the advertising and marketing the goods and services offered by different companies. To begin with, the business can give a quick and immediate response. Facebook, and Twitter are the top two main social sites that are used by most businesses. For example, in Facebook, the business can create a Facebook page where it can market its products. The pages are usually created free of charge, however, the business can decide to pay Facebook to have promoted pages. Facebook will help it advertise the page to various consumers. When any consumer has a problem, the business is able to respond immediately to the query CITATION Con08 \l 1033 (Constantinides , 2008).
Secondly, the target market is reached on a personal basis. When a business, posts something in its Facebook page or update a tweet, the potential customers gets an opportunity to interact with the owner of the business in a personal way. Therefore, any clarification that he or she may be seeking will be given promptly. From the feedback that the business get from the clients, there can be an improvement in the marketing strategies employed by the company CITATION Sar12 \l 1033 (Saravanakumar, 2012).
Thirdly, the use of social media in the marketing and advertisement of the goods and services can lead to an increase in the sales volume. There are a number of people using the social sites. If there are well organized strategies used by the business to reach out to the potential buyers, there will be an increase in the volume of sales by any given company or business. Social media marketing and advertisement does not only create awareness about the company’s business but also give the business a chance to convince the potential customers to buy.
Fourthly, social media marketing leads to improved brand recognition and loyalty. The adverts and the marketing strategies employed by a company in the social media can improve the loyalty of the customers to its brand. In addition to this, it helps the customers to easily recognize the brand that is being sold by the business. The advantage of brand recognition and brand loyalty in the long run is the increase in sales which ultimately leads to an improved profit margins for the business CITATION Gen12 \l 1033 (Gensler, 2012).
Looking at the benefits that social media has on advertisement and marketing, it would be prudent for Book Bunker to invest more on it. However, there are some strategies that the store must put in place before rolling out the program. This program will have a great impact on the business’s marketing and advertising plans. It will eventually result in increasing the presence of the business online.
