The Four Types of Team Players
Team work is one of the most critical strategies for successful businesses. When different skills are combined for the success of one organization, the daily workflow becomes seamless. When all employees and departments in an organization work as a team, it boosts productivity since they help each other to overcome different problems efficiently. Communication is also an important part of teamwork, communication boosts team morale since each player has a platform for communicating their innovative ideas and airing their opinions when things are not right. This paper seeks to assess the four types of team players, the contributors, the collaborator, the communicator and the challenger, how they relate to historical figure and how to handle a team with the four types of players.
The contributor is the first types of team player. Contributors enjoy completing tasks since they are task oriented individuals. They thrive in ensuring that all projects are completed through providing the team with reliable technical information (Matthews & McLees, 2015). They also believe in the abilities of the team as they always set high standards and advocate for encourage responsible use of available resources. Steve Jobs is the perfect contributors since he actively participated in the development of hardware and software at Apple Corporation. He believed that the I-phone should be relatively smaller in display size, but superior in performance and design. I would use a contributor in the team to determine whether there is progress through listening to their opinions.
