Inbound logistics involves activities such as handling stock control and warehousing. Operations involve those activities that involve production, packing and all those activities that transfer inputs into outputs (Myerson, 2012). Outbound logistics involves activities that ensure goods get to the customers e.g. transport activities. Marketing and sales involve those activities that inform the customers of the goods and making them purchase them. Finally, is the service category in the primary activities. It involves the activities that support all the other activities such as returns and installation.
Secondary activities involve a number of activities. Procurement includes activities that involve the buying and purchasing of products that will be used in the course of the business. Technology development involves activities such as Information and communications technology (ICT) and research development (Emmett, 2005). Human resource management involves the management of the aspects of all the personnel in the organization. Infrastructure involves general management activities such as legal and finance etc.
