Stand by Me Name Institutional Affiliation Stand by Me Stand by Me is a movie evolving around Gordie and his life with friends Chris, Teddy and Vern as youngsters and adults. At their adult stages, the story focuses on Chris and Gordie and portrays a brother-like relationship. The four friends have a positive relation and their closeness can be defined by their childhood adventures. The adventure flashbacked after the death of Vern is symbolic in that it shows how Gordie interacted with his friends and through hard times, they stack together. Their experience a dead body defines how they encouraged each other through stressful period. The relationship changes once they graduate into adulthood. The period explores different angles towards their friendship. Chris remains loyal to their friendship while the two depart the city to seek personal needs. Chris stands out to be the closet of Gordie’s friend. The four have a stronger childhood friendship but given their differences in destiny and career. Gordie compensate the lost family loves with this friends’ love. The character presents different factors in relationships in that all of his friend have difficult friendships and together they overcome. There closeness is not lost at their childhood, given the death of Chris reignites his childhood friendship. Gordie positively interact with all friends despite their differences. Their different adulthood friendship is what complicates their relationship. After each character becomes family men, they concentrate on their families and Gordie is more close to Chris that the other two friends. The death of Chris then means that Gordie was closer to his family than Teddy and Vern (Evans et al, 1986).
