Feminism is Harmful to American Society
Historically, female identity was seen as inferior to that of males until recently when women started demanding equality in all cycles. The inferiority subjugation of women experienced in sexuality, education, jobs, and reproductive choices among other fields is changing. Current American woman enjoys near equality position through civil and feminism actions that force the society to overcome the long-held stereotypes. Democratization in American society has seen women realize and enjoy similar preferences like men. A common right that modern women enjoy is the right to vote, contest and hold elective office, a right previously denied. Despite feminism movement achievements, there are more harms to the society that the merits. This paper explores the negative side of feminism in the American society while seeking to motivate modern American woman to embrace her role in the society.
Feminism has led to an increasing belief that women have to fight for their equality rights to succeed. Women have adopted a view that they have to get every right in democratic space, including elective and appointed offices in government and the society. The notion of equality applies to every aspect of American social life leading to frequent mass protests. Forte (2014) observed that American women believe that "it is their right to enjoy fruits of hard labor from past oppressive traditions" (p.114). The belief that it is women’s time to enjoy reparations harms American men who were not present at the former oppressive ages. Failure to get the above preferences amounts to blame on feminine condition rather than working hard.

Marriages are less effective as witnessed by increased divorces and separations that result from women’s demand for career growth. Women want to keep their identities longer while enjoying their independence. Men, on the other hand, are finding easy sex from women who want casual encounters compromising the institution of marriage and society customs (Szelewa, 2014). The social values of respect and order in the society remain threatened courtesy of equality protests in gender roles. Women in career view society standards like staying home to take care of a baby as binding and retrogressive. Feminist campaigners in mainstream media like Oprah, Couric and Huffington view a majority of American women as "powerless," a message that conforms to a feminist message.
Feminism views and stands by women make it hard to find a suitable life-partner. The feminist career woman has difficulties finding the right partner due to her limited choice. She needs a man equal or above to her level, a categorization that limits suitable partners. Feminist women prefer more money than establishing a family. The push for equality characterized by favoring more women to a position has created a generation of impoverished men, unsuitable for husbands. A majority of women opt not to marry but focus more on earning more money. Women overvalue alpha males who in turn pump and dump them in the long-...
