The human nature is obsessed with conquest tendencies, but there is no need to establish a colony on Enceladus. Human beings have engaged in exploratory activities for the past several decades. The exploration is informed by many factors including technological advancement and the need to extend dominance. Enceladus is one of the potential places that astronauts target due to its perceived habitability. The satellite is found on Saturn together with Mimas, Tethys, and Dione. Despite the progress that space exploration agencies have made, there should be no colony on Enceladus because humans lack the discipline to protect anything they discover; instead, they destroy and fight for it within a short time.
A colony on Enceladus would result in short-lived excitement before human activities lead to its degradation. The world has experienced different crises due to social events that are traceable to negligence. For example, global warming and environmental pollution are attributable to human irresponsibility including pollution and deforestation. The problems could be solved by establishing a new place on a different planet, especially on Saturn due to its friendly environment. GorTurk (2018) provides evidence that confirms scientists’ statements about the planet’s habitability. However, humans would continue with their destructive habits on Enceladus. Setting up a colony on Saturn’s Enceladus without first addressing the harmful human tendencies will not have any lasting impact.
