WASTED TRUST.
Drew and Drake grew up in the streets of Brooklyn striving to achieve what their hearts would desire the most. As brothers from separate mothers they learnt to have each other’s backs in whatever troubles they had. Since they lived next to each other they walked to school together in the morning, telling each other stories of what strange movies they had watched the previous night. They learnt to live as brothers and fight as a team.
Now middle aged and a chip off the old block, Drew now worked with the central intelligence agency. He had just been recruited and was just learning how things work in the agency. Having lost his mother and father when he was eighteen, he learnt to take life’s blows as they came to him. He had just a few friends because he stuck to the rules of the agency. Who could blame him?
Drake, a senior cadet in the navy got swimming lessons once he moved off to military school. He left Drew once his parents passed on but assured him of their brotherhood. Drake got his masters in maritime management from Harvard and was top in the shipping firm in terms of ranking. He was also middle aged and had not yet settled down but he did his job to the best of his ability.
Both of them were now all grown up and wanted to do something together. Just to remind them of the brotherhood they always had. When they were boys, they had toys that they always shared and dreamt of one day buying themselves big houses and cars together. They fulfilled that dream. They both lived together in a mansion that had a sea view and had a set of cars never seen in the country before. Just like they dreamt when they were kids.
Drake and Drew started and managed a company called Fiber net that dealt with the installation of internet services in remote areas of the country. Their company was earning billions from the financial year. Nothing could set these two apart. As chief executive officers, they sat in the same office as they worked day in day out. They decided to retire from their fields of expertise and stick to what gave them good profits, their company.
Right from the start they knew they were destined to work together in the struggle of life. Everything now went totally smoothly and their bond grew much stronger, however, they were still young and single. They needed to start their own families. Although Drew was not for the idea of marriage, he totally supported Drake who loved to start his own family. Drew loved just to mingle with ladies in one night stands which was not what Drake expected of him. He needed to find someone who would take care of him and love him even though he had a lot of money.
One of the most successful companies in the country was headed by young and able men. Indeed you would expect women to throw themselves at these successful men. Both were very kind and down to earth but handled their office work strictly official. Drake started taking time off working hours. Drew was curious to know why and sooner or later he found out the lady who stole his brother’s heart, Beverly an ex chief executive officer of a beauty company that went bankrupt in the neighboring street. Drake really played his cards right because Beverly was no ordinary lady right from her natural hair to the six inch stilettos she always wore.
Drake and Beverly were seeing each other for six months and since they were not getting any younger, Drake decided to pop the big question. Beverly was amazed because he asked her to marry him right in their mansion just at the time when the sun was about to set. Beverly accepted the proposal as quickly as she could and though they did not want to rush things, in a month’s time, they were already married. Drew stood in as his only best man in his small low profile but very costly wedding. He smiled as both of them joined in Holy matrimony.
Before they could go for their honeymoon, Drake had to leave his official duties and paper work to Drew. As his partner, Drew was much obliged to step in once Drake made an emergency business trip before he could go for his honey moon with his wife Beverly. So Beverly stayed with Drew in the mansion. Drew came back from dropping Drake at the airport and found Beverly in the living room. The lust in his eyes was unimaginable. He walked up to her and offered her a glass of champagne since she was new to the mansion. Drew drugged the champagne and as soon as Beverly had a couple of sips of the champagne, she went out like a light.
What happened to her after she was carried by Drew to his bedroom was a mystery. He took her back to her bedroom after he was done with her. Beverly woke up the next morning and realized what had been done to her. Someone stole her most prized possession. Her virginity as well as her dignity. She sat on her bed lacking words to say and afraid of confronting Drew because she was not sure of what happened.
Drew picked Drake from the airport as soon as he arrived the next morning. They were happy to see each other but Drake noticed that Drew was hiding something as soon as he asked about Beverly, his wife. They were silent in the car as they drove all the way to the mansion. Sweet Beverly was in a dress waiting for her husband at the gate and like he promised, they were to leave for their honeymoon as soon as he came back from his trip.
Beverly did not want to spoil their relationship because she knew they were friends for a long time. She knew that Drew hadn’t used protection and the results would start showing sooner or later. All said and done, the boat was ready and Drake was fired up for his honeymoon. He treated his wife like a jewel during their honeymoon and once they realized they had already spent two months together in a suite in Dubai, they decided to go back home and start looking for a house of their own.
Beverly, still the most beautiful lady in Drakes eyes was now three weeks pregnant after she told Drake about it. Drake was so happy to finally be a father. Drew was happy for them and congratulated them by opting to furnish the baby playroom. Even though Drake wanted to do his baby’s room himself, Drew insisted and already started preparations on it.
Drake took care of Beverly who loved him so much. They did everything together and never engaged in a fight because they just understood each other.
The time came for the child to be born. Beverly was rushed to hospital she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. Drake took a look at his child and said,
"My son, I will raise you to be the greatest."
