Nowadays, the news are flooded with stories of war, corruption, hunger, pollution, and poverty. All kinds of heinousness are thrown at us from all directions that can push even the most blithesome human being into a pit of desperation. Fortunately, each one of us can change what we want to see. By making small changes in our lives and encouraging other people to do the same, we can change the entire world. My top actions are to plant a garden and speak up and take action.
In pursuit of financial might, the world has been exposed to a lot of industrial emissions leading to the ever mindboggling climate change crisis. I believe that a little garden can do a great deal to the environment. Planting and harvesting my food will imply that less food will be imported or exported, which decreases the emission levels to the atmosphere. Also, a garden of flowers can sustain pollinators such as birds, butterflies and bees. Currently, these pollinators are victims of insecticide and pesticide use.
