Couple Psychology and No-Power Relationships (Essay Sample)
In my opinion, power in a couple's relationships refers to one of the partners’ ability to dominate the other. In marriage, if one of the spouses has the ability to make his or her decisions honored in the marriage. The domination of one partner by the other is attributed to various factors (Treas & Kim, 2016). Such factors include but are not limited to outcomes of decision-making, income level, and the degree of love. The partner whose decisions are functional has the ability to continue ruling in the decision-making process. The partner with the higher income is the decision-maker in the relationship. In a case whereby one loves the other more, he or she will always humble thus dominated.
