Through the completion of my curriculum evaluation project, I have gained an immense amount of knowledge and skills that are valuable in classroom application. My ability to reflect the experiences critically and integrate knowledge gained from the project and take action on the insights remains a significant step towards ensuring the success of learning (Brookfield & Preskill 1999). The project has offered me the platform to recognize the assumptions governing my actions, locate cultural origins of my teaching assumptions, and develop alternative approaches of acting. Thus, the project has offered necessary steps of combining my experience with technical and theoretical learning to form new knowledge constructions and insights. For instance, the project has afforded me a well-round set of skills and knowledge of applying learner-centered learning environments and its effectiveness in education. Additionally, I have understood the use of service learning and problem-based learning (PBL) to promote student learning of principles and concepts rather than using the direct presentation of ideas and facts.
