Leadership is habitually baffled with holding a high chair of power, making many leaders lose their way and this result in failures. Many talented leaders are known for integrity plus leadership and highly successful in the respective fields sometimes lose track and engage in unethical conducts (Bill, 2011). These leaders tend to believe that their elevated rank places them above the regulation and risk their unblemished reputations for ephemeral gains. When leaders confuse the leadership with high power, they lose their moral behaviors and often give in to temptations in the command paths. Extremely few people enter the leadership roles to do evil or to cheat, yet every person can do actions that they sincerely regret unless one stays grounded (Chatterjee, 2006).
Prior to taking any leadership role, leaders do ask themselves whether they want to lead and the purpose of their leadership. Finding answers to these simple questions might take decades. However, when the honest answers are prestige, power and money, most leaders are at jeopardy of relying upon the external gratification for satisfaction (Lloyd, 2009). There is nothing erroneous with the desire for these outward emblems provided that they are united with a deeper longing to serve something beyond oneself (Chatterjee, 2006). The leaders whose objective is the quest for the unlimited wealth, power over the others, or fame that accompanies success tend to look into the others to attain satisfaction. These leaders often appear egotistical and self-centered due to the confusion of leadership and holding seats of high power (Bill, 2011). Furthermore, these leaders then begin to believe their press and as heads of institutions, they ultimately believe that such systems cannot achieve something without them (Bill, 2011).
While many people value fair rewards for their achievements, some leaders set off into seeking only power, prestige and money. Along the course, the rewards fuel escalating desires for more. This increasing desire creates a deep yearning to keep it going, frequently driven to overcome egotis...
