Same Sex Marriage
Same sex marriage which is also referred to as Gay marriage has become common in today’s world. Same sex relationship that eventually leads to same sex marriage occurs mostly when there is a mutual attraction between members of the same sex like a man getting attracted to a fellow man rather than a woman and also a woman being attracted to a fellow female. Gay marriages recently have brought about different debate and many have different point of views to same sex marriage idea.
Today’s world and culture has been shaped and brought up to some maintaining their traditional rights while some don’t constantly follow the real tradition of their particular culture. Same sex relationships have also legal rights and denying them these rights means that their basic rights to enjoy life as human is restricted. Although gay marriages are given the rights to have such relationships under the legal rights, this also serves as a threat to our moral, tradition and values of a family or society (Nan D. Hunter, 2012). Many religions of the world still find gay marriage as an immoral act and if all the rights of same sex are passed accordingly, will violet the church and other worshipping places. Religions claim that marriages are holy and therefore ordained by God, allowing same sex marriage will ruin the cleanliness of worshipping place in the name of marriage (Ira C lupu & Robert W. Tuttle, p.275-280, 2010).
Rights of Same sex marriage have its own advantages and also disadvantages to the people involved. Some of the Advantages of same sex marriages include; freedom to open up who you are and what your are as this allows one to enjoy the freedom and not sneak or hide if one is gay. The right of same sex marriage helps in reducing discrimination and stigma from the society as this removes the idea of people viewing them as either a curse of treat them in a lower respectful way. The disadvantages of same sex marriage are; it creates a negative environment and impression to raise a child. As gay couples may adopt a child, the environment won’t be fully conducive as the child needs support and presence of mother and father to feel loved and reach their full potential (Lina Guillen, 2016). Gay marriages are not fully permitted and recognized worldwide, this may limit the rights of gay couples in such countries subjecting them to discrimination.
Ongoing debates of same sex marriages are still hot as many countries which still value their tradition and cultural beliefs still aren’t sure if its right or wrong. In Africa many countries don’t allow gay marriages as these violets the culture and shows a bad example to the society (Brett Kennedy, 2006). Western countries like America did pass the rights that governs the laws and prote...
