Feeding a Hungry World
Even though the world produces food that feeds billions of people, everyday people still go hungry. The world still looks forward to attaining the goal of eradicating hunger by the year 2030. Hunger solutions are both complex and simple. The tangible interventions are the simplest because they are phases which can be taken easily. The following remedies can be taken to help eradicate hunger in the world;
Reducing Wastage of Food
Presently, billions of tons of food produced in the world is wasted. In the process of producing this wasted food, there are other resources that are natural, which are wasted. Fighting food wastage could be a fundamental change. Every individual could be part of this movement by simply plummeting wasting their own food.
Pest Control
Apart from flood and drought, pests are another threat to crops. They attack and destroy crops, and as a result, lower yields are realized. Pests such as locusts are a serious threat to crops, and when they are not controlled, they cause destruction of high magnitude. Scientists need to invent pesticides that can be used to control pests with minimal side effects on the crops. Governments should also seek to compensate farmers whose crops are invested by pests causing serious destruction. This can be done through, issuing them with new seeds or even giving grants in terms of cash.
Proper Food Storage
A lot of food may be wasted when there is no good storage. Food that is not properly stored may be destroyed by adverse weather conditions or even by rodents. Food storage can as well be achieved right from the household level, which can help close the hunger gap.
