The ability of how to read and write is what dictates if one is a literate or illiterate. The ability to do perform the two skills and using them to reason properly to benefit you is what is called education. Knowledge is an essential need in life as it helps one navigate in this demanding world.
The advantages of being educated are numerous. Among them is avoiding embarrassment in the society. Earlier in life people would be respected by their level of education rather than their economic status. Therefore those who were illiterate would be referred to as poor and a disgrace to the society.
Schooling helps while reasoning things out with others. Whenever you have a reason as to why you are doing something, one has to reason it out first prior to. An example is a farmer who is not able to read and determine the best fertilizers that can increase the fertility of their farm instead of relying on rituals that are meant to please the god of rain.
It helps you keep up with the evolutions made over the years. You have to know them for you to ensure you are up to date. There are many technologies that have been established especially the apps. An example is the WhatsApp which requires one to be good in reading so as they can use it efficiently.
One gets exposed to the world at large. It does not mean that one has to travel to all those countries but they can know more about them all while sitted in their country. Being able to read will enable you understand the culture and much more about a particular state. One is able to establish their understanding through the languages spoken in those other states.
