The Dolls House by Henrik Ibsen is a play that has tried to remove the state of confusion in the various household in the societal settings.The author has also been referred to as the father of realism since he has made people get to understand their space in today's world.The author has also contributed to the spread of reality to the western culture since apart from marriage being a divine outcome, it has its justifiable risks such as separation and divorce.The writer has played with some words to reveal how symbolism has been used in the lay to bring about some meanings to the audience. (Gardner, Lawn, Ridl, & Schakel, 2008, )
The name Nora which is the main heading of the play has enabled the reader of the book to have a view of how the household of Nora and her husband Torvald and how the marriage comes to a fall. The writer describes happiness, power of work, good morals, adorable children and better relationship with friends as the quality of the marriage. Moreover, Torvald does not find happiness in his home and therefore he breaks his delightful household. The picture of this household in the play is somehow symbolic of the couples. It is the responsibility for Nora to ensure the household is kept appropriately despite the secrets she keeps in her heart. (Gardner, Lawn, Ridl, & Schakel, 2008, )
