Benjamin Franklin (one of the United States founding fathers and liberator) was the first Postmaster General of the United States; he was a leading political thinker, printer, novelist, scientist, and government officer. Franklin became a powerful figure during the wars and revolutions and collaborated with George Washington – also referred to as "Father of his Country" in promoting the United States' independence.
