Abstract
This research is based on the general aspect of Art that has been shared over the years. As early as the 17th century, art was shared by the diverse population of the American citizens. This has clearly been highlighted in articles such as American Reflections: The Collection of Dr. Timothy McLaughlin and Looking for America from outside In. These articles have been critically examined and given the best analytical start of art in America.
Art speaks volumes for itself. Whichever art it will work wonders for itself. American Art gained its peak during the Gilded Age. The many millionaires that lived in America liked to fill their homes with the portraits. Viewing some of the portraits done by John Singer Sargent and James McNeill Whistler has made me understand why they were the sort after artists. Apart from that American literature, portraits have also diverged across the world. People like Mark Twain have remained prominent in this sector over the years.
My best aspect about these discoveries is how even with the development of new technology artists have found ways of embracing portraits. With the Digital photography one can easily make a portrait look like it was drawn. “The Impressionists preferred sunlight to shadows; light, air, and color as experienced outdoors; and fleeting daily scenes as opposed to mythological or historical subjects.” Dr. Timothy McLaughlin. This is still happening even with the digital world.
Beside Art, these methods can be used to teach students to help them discover their inner talents.
