Brain Development
Within a socioeconomic context, there exists human brain development. The socioeconomic status (SES) remains the measure of one's position in the society influencing the experiences of an individual from childhood to adulthood. These experiences have been found to affect the function and structure of the brain. When one is brought in a low SES background, he/she undergoes impaired psychological well-being, reduced emotional development, and impaired cognitive. Through the use of neuroscience, the cognitive and affective systems influencing SES can be contrasted with epidemiology and sociology. Also, through neuroscience, the cause-effect relationship can be identified between neural development and SES.
SES can be linked with material resources, occupation, education, and household income. Besides, it can also be related to the nature of family with exposure to toxins and conflicts. In comparing children and adolescents that come from SES background of higher-class and those of low-class, the children and adolescents from low-class have high rates of anxiety, problems, depression, and even poor conduct.
The socioeconomic status has a major influence on mental health, academic performance, and cognition. Through research, differences have been identified on affective neural systems. These neural systems underlie the effects of mental health, academics, and perception. Through the use of neuroscience in humans and animals, biologically plausible candidate mediators have been provided to explain the cause-effect link for SES and neural development. Mediators such as cognitive stimulation, parental support, and prenatal factors are used in describing the relationship (Flandin, & Friston, 2019).
The parenting quality and environmental factors have shown an influence on neural development. Through toxins exposure, children from low SES have been found to have high rates of toxins in their body, for they mostly interact with the environment. The intake of nutrients and chloric also influence neural mechanisms, which are primarily seen in low SES, for they experience the problem of accessing healthy foods. Through poor parental care, children may be exposed to drugs resulting in poor SES. With stress, many families relationships have been affected especially those with children from low SES
Within the text, brain development is being looked upon. For those children emerging from low SES, their brains have been affected. For instance, evidently from the text, these children's brains are affected in that the parents in the way they bring them up. Those children from low SES exposed to toxins such as those of lead have poor brain development compared to those from high SES who may not be disclosed to toxins.
In the U.S, individuals hold different cultural attitudes toward education. For one to complete the education cycle in the US, he/she must undergo all the levels of education that include early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, and vocational education (Dowker, 2019). There is an altitude of those who are highly educated, segregating with th
