The novel review is simple and straight forward. In fact, the critic states in a precise manner, although in very few words, what the novel is all about (Kenneally, 2018). Kenneally (2018) begins the critique by acknowledging the fact that the main character is forcibly dragged in a concentration camp where the authorities discover his multilingual abilities. Because of this, he is forced into the work of a tattooist, a job with responsibilities of marking prisoners’ bodies with indelible ink with identification numbers. It is while executing his duties that he meets a young girl with whom he falls in love. Henceforth, he struggles to ensure that he survives just as much as the girl must survive (Kenneally, 2018).
