Write a character driven story which focuses on character development. The story must focus on the Main character and should include dialogue, and writer craft moves such as metaphors, similes, hyperbole, aliteration ,personification, etc. The important thing is that you write in the character's voice and are true to the personality you have developed for your character throughout the story.
The story should include:
Write from the perspective of the main character in a way that is appropriate for who they are, their age, their personality, and how they would speak.
Focus on developing my character throughout the text- the little details are what make a character authentic and realistic.
Have an effective title
Balance showing(to allow the reader to experience the story through action, words, thoughts, senses, and feelings rather than through the author's exposition, summarization, and description) and telling(Telling is when the author summarizes or uses exposition to simply tell the reader what is happening.)
Have a complete story arc -- definitive beginning, middle, and end including a sense of climax
Avoid using clichéd storylines.
