Ethics is the questioning of what is considered to be right or wrong and what is considered as duties and responsibilities. Human relations, responsibilities and associations require a great exercise of core values such as justice and fairness. However, ethical challenges may arise in some situations thus resulting to numerous moral and personal challenges such as decision making, authenticity, balancing self-interest with the interest of others, discipline, consistency, and making the right choices. Good ethics do promote not only leader-follower relations but also facilitate proper social relations through the promotion of values such as honesty, trust, justice and also facilitates great communication among different individuals. Therefore, there are six fundamental ethical values that facilitate ethical interaction between individuals in various work scenarios and facilitate the attainment of professional objectives in different work areas. These ethical values also enhance personal character development and they will be critically examined below.
Responsibility
Responsibility is one of the key ethical value mandatory for any leader. Taking up responsibility as a leader is not only about fulfilling their duties and responsibilities but also about believe that people want to excel and creating an environment under which success is not only contagious but also possible. I unveil particular behavior of responsibility such as accountability for my actions, self- disciple and thinking before pursuing a course of action. Further, I clearly understand the concept of consistency in leadership and the fact that every action has a consequence and I try to make sure that all my actions are justified. Sometime back in high school, I learned to be responsible when I was elected among some of the student leaders and I had to make sure I was an exemplary leader that could be emulated.
