Why Performance Reviews are Difficult Conversations
Performance reviews can be difficult conversations for a leader as they challenge the efforts the employees have put in carrying out their work. Performance review conversations may involve giving out negative feedback to the employees, which would, in turn, affect the compensation of the employees. A leader needs to learn to give out the correct strategies for communication to be used in sharing the information required without changing the employee’s performance (Brutus, 2010) negatively.
