Cultural Diversity of Bantu and Swahili Speakers of East Africa.
The Bantu Culture includes all the indigenous of related African ethnic groups of Eastern Africa that are about half the total population. Swahili culture, like many other cultures in the world, is a product of several influences but mainly of Bantu culture influence that has been incorporated as part of its tradition and culture over time. The Bantu people consist of more than 250 ethnic groups, with more than 300 million people making up their rank, while the Swahili language has over 100 million speakers (de Schryver and G. M, 2018). A culture is a set of beliefs and values passed down to generations. Cultural norms should be fluid and dynamic, allowing for change over time and making room for positive cultural elements.
First of all, Tribalism should be discouraged and encourage the celebration of universal values. We should foster a culture that unites us rather than divides us. Tribalism promotes corruption and impedes the development of a good culture in society (Abdelrahim and Dr, 2020). Tribalism is one of the roots of social and economic inequality. When people are stereotyped by their physical appearance, gender, and cultural characteristics, Tribalism is at work.
