The enslaved Africans' experiences, from Capture in Africa to sale and forced labor, were quite horrifying. Such Africans were treated in a way that presented them to be less humans in their enslavers' eyes. This made them have little hope in humanity. However, the African slaves came up with the adaptive measures that helped them survive the slavery error and ensure that they thrill amid the intense pressure and mistreatments they were getting from their enslavers. The colonial world's experience was white rough, and they came up with strategies that made them defy the enslavement conditions. This led the establishment extraordinary measures by the Europeans to keep the African slaves in chains.
From their point of capture to their sale, the African slaves were consistently mistreated. Most of the slaves were captures in Guinea, and at that period, the Europeans owned and operated large fleets of ships. The victims were generally acquired through kidnapping and enticement (Hardesty, 2018). Up to the point of sale, they did not receive proper medication and good nutrition. These slaves were generally exchanged for sugar and some other products. In the colonial world, African slaves were treated harshly. They were forced to do all sorts of physically tedious work. They had little rights and freedoms, and they were not allowed to own permanent homes and land. They only resided in poorly conditioned temporary structures. The slaves carried out such complicated tasks as cultivating large tracts of land and planting and harvesting such products as tobacco, sugar, cotton, and rice. They worked for ten and more hours every day without rest. However, as they increased in number, they started staging revolting attempts, which forced their colonies to enact more stringent measures. They carried out day-to-day resistance through the breaking of tools and boycotting their daily tasks. The Europeans' measures to keep these African slaves in chains during slavery included increasing the intensity of sanctions and restricting them from accessing such valuable services as food. They also had their hands tied.
