The discrimination model entails choosing a supervisor position to meet the needs and goals of the supervisee while also carrying out the twin responsibility of assessing the supervisee's competency. On the other hand, the Hawkins and Shohet Model of Supervision proposes a supervision process model that considers organizational and social circumstances. Both models involve a supervisor meeting regularly and interacting with the worker(s) to review their work, providing supervisors with experiences that naturally promote an excellent supervisory relationship. The discrimination model consists of three distinct foci for supervision; intervention, conceptualization, and personalization Contrary, Hawkins and Shohet's model focuses on seven eyed supervision process, which incorporates the relational and systemic aspects of supervision. It focuses on the client, therapist, and supervisor interactions and considers how each relationship interacts with its environment within the more extensive system. The strength of the discrimination model is that the supervisor can take a teaching stance and focus on a specific intervention during the client session while also paying attention to how the supervisee conceptualizes the assignment.
