The debate on whether doing work by hand is better than using machines seems to be perpetual. On the one hand, some people believe that working by hand creates graspable satisfaction in seeing the evidence of one’s efforts. This faction asserts that such activities increase productivity, personal happiness, physical fitness, creativity, and memory. On the contrary, a sizable proportion of people posits that using machines at the workplace is more favorable, cost-effective, and convenient. Given today’s increasingly competitive business environment, I am an unswerving advocate of the use of machines to complete tasks to increase productivity, reduce costs, and generate competitive advantages.
