Introduction
This chapter will aim at presenting a research design and methodology that will be used in the study. The study will focus on the descriptive research design whereby the effect of the Saudi Arabia higher education will be discussed. Data will be collected and participants chosen at a random selection. This is basically to reduce on the probability errors that may occur due to biasness. Data will then be gathered using various methods which will assist in the analysis of the collected data (Phillips- Wren, G 2010). In this research, various data sources both primary and secondary will be used so as to be able to determine the effect of government to the higher education ministry in Saudi Arabia. In this study, the researcher will focus more on the data collected through qualitative and quantitative methods. Questionnaires will be developed basing more on the factors that will have been discovered on the literature review. The questionnaires will be distributed randomly to different groups in Saudi Arabia.
Participants:
The participants to be used include the students who are already pursuing higher education, government officials, and some economic experts. The participants will be taken from the managerial position from each sector and an equal number of 10 from each sector will be used (Cordesman, & Nawaf, 2005). The participants will be involved in the answering of the questionnaires and participating in the survey.
Data collection:
In most cases, data is normally collected using two different methods. These include primary source like observations, surveys and interviews and secondary source like books, journals, newspapers and internet. A research design is important as it guides the researcher to remain in the scope of his research. This is always made possible through the use research questions. After the idea of the research has already been converted into a practical idea, it is vital to consider the method of the research. Data collection method will be done through qualitative and quantitative method. Using a small number of 10 participants from every sector will allow the researcher to ask for any feedback from the research (Quaddus, & Xu, 2010). This will contribute to the added data that the participants may want to add apart from the questions asked in a questionnaire. The participants will be contacted by mail requesting them to willingly participate in the research. The main objective of the research is to gather as much information as possible on the technology skills for the students who are past secondary school in Saudi Arabia.
A website is formed and participants are to contribute their opinions online. These surveys information will be recorded and transferred in a statistical software package. To come up with a better analysis, there will be a need to calculate the descriptive statistics and also analyze data relationships. Surveys will be conducted randomly to different people of different age but those who have gone past secondary school in their education. The researcher may simply interpret the questions in the questionnaire but is not allowed to guide the participants towards choosing a specific answer. This may have an effect in the data analysis and therefore the end result may end up being incorrect.
Data gathering methods:
Questionnaires as the main tool will be designed such that all the research questions are incorporated in the questionnaire. The participants will be required to answer the questions in the research tools provided willingly. Most questions will target the development and economy of Saudi Arabia and the effect that it has to the ministry of higher education. It is from the data collected that the research will dwell in data gathering (Phillips- Wren, 2010). There will be a need to use secondary information possibly from journals of previous research conducted on the same topic. This is important as it guides the researcher to come up with a better analysis on the topic at hand.
