The use of m-learning (mobile learning) has become the most popular global trend of learning English by people with the desire to attain and understand English speaking. English is the most widespread language used in the world. However, as most countries have recognized the use of English language, most people, especially students, have little understanding of the language as they preferred their mother-tongue. The purpose of the article is to research the use m-learning in English acquisition, identify the taxonomy, research distribution, advantages and the challenges, and to offer recommendations that will facilitate English learning through m-learning. The authors in their article adopted a systematic review of 133 recent articles from six key databases on mobile English learning as a study methodology. According to the researchers, the findings indicated that several scholars have conducted research one-learning technologies. Also, it was found that there are universal concerns regarding the quality, integration, usability, security and privacy, financial cost of adopting the technology, safety, and pedagogical practice. These are the main challenges found in the research to affect the method of m-learning technology and application. The research recommends future studies to identify the effects of gender on m-learning.
