Frangible bullets is an alternative to live ammunition and are not different from the ordinary target bullet. However, frangible bullets are made from a compressed material which is mostly copper concentrate, zinc or tungsten while the regular cartridges are made from lead enclosed in a copper casing. A frangible bullet is used mainly during training and disintegrates when it hits a target or during penetration of the object.
Frangible bullet comprises of an extended frangible core that is manufactured from thermoplastic polymer and a metal. The core part has a back ending, an opposite tip end and an inner piece there among, that has a core length linking the back end and the tip end. The core member is also surrounded by an outer jacket that encloses the first end and the second end. There is also a compartment that is designed to house the core member. Moreover, the core member fits within the outer jacket in a way that the tip of the frangible core is exposed such that upon hitting the target, the core member, as well as the outer coat, gets fragmented.
