Globalization has converted the world into a global village. At the comfort of your home, one can easily acquire and appreciate the cultures of other regions as well as gain knowledge existing in those areas, no matter the distance. The increase in knowledge and technological advancement has led to more awareness among individuals in society. One of the most touched topics in the present times is the unpopular gay rights issues. Recent research observed that between 2 to 11 percent of adults experience sexual feelings towards other individuals of the same sex (Widom 164). Homosexuality exists across culture but in some cultures, it is regarded as an abomination. For example, African, Jamaican in North American and India in Asia just to mention a few; it is both illegal and non-religious to be gay. In these countries, homosexuality is illegal and some consider the act punishable by law. In other communities, you are disowned if they know you are gay. In Jamaica, it is reported that there are so many gay people that are killed every day and other sustain major injuries from knife stabbing when you come out as gay.
