Good Morning Vietnam is a satirical war film directed by Barry Levinson and written by Mitch Markowitz, which was meant to depict the effects of war in Vietnam in a comical and relatable manner. It is set at the peak of warfare between the USA and Vietnam in 1965 in the small county of Saigon, where the USA army has set up a base of operations. The film follows the life of the main star, Adrian Cronauer, as Robert Williams, while he works as a DJ meant to lighten the load on the soldiers.
