American Realism
American Realism movement is an art style, music and literature that represented the true contemporary social realities such as emotions, individualism, imaginations and the lives of everyday activities of ordinary people. The cause for the movement was to react against the rejection of Romanticism with links to emotions and individualism. The movements’ literature in the mid-19th century formed an important part of visual art in the early 20th century. Whether a culturally portrayed or a scenic view of American cities, the movements’ objectives attempted to define what was real and existing in the American working class.
