Importance of Teachers of Color

The delivery of education services in the USA is marked by different problems that are mainly tied to racial factors. Although the USA provides a home to many ethnic groups, there are disparities in the quality of life and treatment of members of different groups (Cherng et al. 2016, 415). A comparison of different groups indicates that the dominant white group discriminates against members of the minority groups. Some of the minority groups in the USA include the African Americans and members of the Latino community. It is such factors that have led to disparities in the access to medical and education services. This paper seeks to highlight some of the benefits of having teachers of color.
Despite the education sector being dominated by white educators, there has been a substantial increase in the number of teachers of color. Likewise, minority students have also been seen to register improved performances as compared to settings where they are taught by white teachers.
