Indian caste culture system is historical, and it consists of four hierarchical ranks called varnas. The varnas are divided based on profession, which determines how people access privileges, power and riches. Brahmas are at the top and usually consist of scholars and priests. Secondly, the Kshatriyas consists of soldiers and political leaders. Vaishyas are the third who are merchants, and finally, the Shudras, who are mostly servants, peasants, laborers, and artisans (Lahiri, 2005). The Shudras are commonly considered outcasts since their occupations are considered polluting and unhygienic. The four varnas are further splinted into smaller castes known as jatis. Every jati comprises a cluster of people acquiring income, particularly from a particular occupation. Individuals are born in their respective castes and later receive specific disciplines per their jati. An intricate ritual system regulates any kind of interactions among the jatis and maintains the hereditary occupational specialization. Some rules have been put into place concerning proper occupational pursuit, acceptable behavior among and within castes, and regulations related to marriage.
