Memes as a Language. Literature & Language Assignment (Essay Sample)
I just want a paper that introduces memes as a new for of language. We live in a generation where we send memes to friend instead of texting. That’s a form of communication. We send things that relate to us; work, shopping habits, gender roles, eating habits, being tired, hating our boss, hating school etc.

Memes as a Language
A Meme is often cited by laymen as a virally-transmitted social idea. However, the millennial generation view memes as modern verbal expressions that communicate either a joke, explain one’s current mood or ridicule human behavior. The obsession with memes began slowly as merely the modern version of the joke SMS forwards. The basic requirement was a picture and a caption. It later became evident that our reliance on memes had gradually evolved with the steady growth of social media and its role in facilitating quick and effective communication. Memes are an extension of emojis, which play a huge role in supplementing ones thoughts.
