Constipation, change in appetite, abdominal pain, and bloating are all symptoms of IBS, which manifest in the patient (Driggers & Pellegrino, 2009). The high body temperature, blood pressure, and abnormal heartbeat indicate that the patient could potentially be sick. It is also critical know that the patient had an appendectomy, at the age of 22, a surgery that enhances the chances of developing abdominal issues. Despite the lack of a known cause of the disease, appendectomy is a possible trigger for the disease. The removal of the appendix disrupts the normal functionality of the body’s abdominal and excretory organs. Therefore, the appendectomy could be one among the causes of IBS. The symptoms of the disease vary from one person to another. So, it is important to consult medical assistance as soon as any of the listed symptoms appear. There is no known cure for IBS. However, some treatments could help suppress the symptoms. The best way to prevent bowel diseases is to change one’s lifestyle and diet choices. Ingesting a well-balanced diet is one step into the prevention and treatment of IBS.
