Introduction
It is evident that the internet is rapidly changing the way people communicate, learn, and work. That is, the emergence of the internet among other technological advancements such as computers, have rapidly changed the modern world in various aspects. Currently, there is a new trend in the learning institutions where learning is undertaken through online lectures podcast among other online learning processes. The argument is that, online learning process is causing a decline to some important learning processes such as class attendance.
One area that is affected by the new technological improvements is the print industry. The print industry is deteriorating due to the emergence of the internet besides other technological progress. The drop in print media is evident as manifested in many areas and activities. Many people currently rely on the internet to perform various activities such as reading, teaching, working and even listening to music (Farhi). In a majority of the academic institutions, teachers frequently conduct their lectures online, which this makes it unnecessary for the students to attend physical classes. Moreover, books and other learning resources are now available online, which this means that the students do not necessarily need to purchase the books, but they can however access or read them online (Farhi). The implication signifies that the print industry is suffering due to the availability of books as soft copies over the internet.
