Job Description
X Company is seeking a Statistician for a 2 year project. The individual will work with international experts to execute various projects and subprojects as required. The statistician will be responsible for consulting with the assigned clients and identifying issues they want resolved. The job will entail formulating research problems, designing experiments, supervising data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of results. In addition, the statistician will be required to give his or her opinions and recommendations on various statistical issues as required. Furthermore, the statistician will be responsible for completing any other tasks assigned to him or her by the senior statistician.
Duties and Responsibilities
The statistician will be tasked with applying statistical knowledge and techniques to find solutions to various problems presented by the clients. The person will be responsible for liaising with clients and obtaining information on their research problems. After gathering the necessary information, the statistician will need to develop statistical interventions to solve the problems. Additionally, the statistician will be responsible for formulating research problems and designing statistical experiments. It will be the duty of the statistician to determine what data would be collected, how they would be collected, and how they would be analyzed. The statistician will also be responsible for accurately interpreting results analysis, reporting on the findings, and providing recommendations to the clients. He or she would also need to write reports on the research projects.
Qualifications
To be considered for an interview, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications.
Education and Experience: A minimum an undergraduate degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, or any other related course from a recognized university. Candidates who have graduated with a second class upper and above will be given priority. However, a postgraduate degree in the relevant fields is an added advantage. In addition, the candidate should at least have 1 year of work experience in the relevant field.
Other Skills and Requirements: The candidate should be a dynamic individual who performs best in a fast paced environment and willing to work in teams. In addition, the individual should be computer literate and have working knowledge of statistical data analysis packages. He or she should possess excellent numerical, analytical, research, and presentation skills. Moreover, the candidate should exhibits quality organizational skills, attention to details mindset and methodical with a proactive approach to work.
