Sylvia Plath
The collective body of Sylvia Plath’s poetry demonstrates an absolute mastery of her craft. In her writings, Plath has been criticized for her overtly autobiographical work and suicidal pessimism (Bloom 17). However, close studies reveal that her mastery of poetry transcends from her personal experiences. In the poems, Plath relates her painful experiences in the form of a dramatic monolog. Moreover, in her writing, Plath uses the tone of a person who eventually triumphs over adversity by regaining the self-lost before the poem’s struggle. As a result of her artistic mastery in the poetry field, Sylvia Plath has been considered one of the great poets to have ever lived on earth.
