Structural inequality is a form of discrimination towards one group or category of people making them feel or look unequal in status as compared to other categories of people. One of the underlying causes of structural inequality is systemic racism.
Systemic racism is a form of discrimination that occurs to people of color as a result of the unjust policies and systems that exist across the institutions that make up society ("Moving the Race Conversation Forward", 2014). In this form of racism, people are discriminated against through the organization or the company system structure and policies. It is a form of racism that is rarely discussed as most people tend to focus on the two forms of individual racism yet systemic racism is rampant in the world. It is a form of racism in which a group or category of people are exposed to due to the unjust structure and policies that exist in an institution.
