In American, childhood obesity is one of the main health concerns as up to a third of American children are obese or overweight (Paula, 2015). Therefore, a significant proportion of the future generation is at risk of preventable chronic and acute diseases, and the fact makes it essential for healthcare leaders and practitioners to review the major factors behind childhood obesity. In appreciation of the fact that people have different genetic characteristics and that they live in unique environmental and social settings, it is undisputable that technology, particularly the internet, television, and video games, significantly increases the risk of obesity as it promotes unhealthy eating habits and encourages sedentary behavior.
